About
New France Wine Company
We're
a small (4-person) company that specializes in niche producers
who make great, even if not necessarily well-known, wine. New
France Wine has been in Minnesota for 7 years; previously, Robert
Rudolph, owner and founder, owned a distributorship/import wine
company in San Francisco.
New
France Wine Company (so named because the upper Midwest region
was formerly known as New France by the French explorers who settled
the area (a la New England), not because we carry
only French wines; our selection spans the globe) has an large
and eclectic portfolio, focusing on France, Italy, and Spain,
but with an eye toward value in all parts of the world, including
domestic, Portugal, Australia, and elsewhere. All of our imported
wines are domaine-bottled, and we strive to work with producers
who are the best at their craft (e.g., Palacios, Dagueneau, Huet,
Pingus, Quintarelli, etc.).
We're
wine people first (we select our wines because we think they're
great wines and great values, not necessarily because they'll
sell well) and salespeople second; we hand-sell all of our wine,
working with retailers and restaurants to find what's right for
them, not applying a cookie-cutter formula. Though we're a small
company, we're known for the quality of our list, and work with
all of the restaurants and retailers of note in the state of Minnesota.
