What we’re doing

We work to bring the world of exceptional wines and spirits to the midwest—and to connect the producers behind them to our vibrant community. Our passion is rooted in the challenge of introducing distinctive bottles to a food and wine culture that’s always eager for discovery and meaning.

Who we are

New France was founded in 1993 to connect Minnesota with the great wineries of the world. We’re a small business with a long-tenured and open-minded staff that likes to push boundaries and explore the pleasures of the table. Prior to becoming the territory of Minnesota in 1849, these lands were part of New France (or the northern part of the Louisiana Territory). 

New France has a large and eclectic portfolio focusing on France, Italy, and Spain but with an eye toward value and quality in all parts of the world including North America, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia, South America, and elsewhere. The products we carry are from small, passionate producers who make unique, environmentally sustainable products that express a sense of place while maintaining a standard of excellence.
