I got hooked on the wine business when I studied abroad in Geisenheim Germany in an international wine business program. That program opened doors I could have never expected, I met my wife, biked across most of the German wine regions, and visited wine regions of France, Portugal, Croatia, and Georgia, all of which made me realize that wine is the industry I wanted to be a part of! Returning to the US, I continued my original path of becoming a teacher, although I soon enrolled at Bordeaux Science Agro for a winemaking degree. Studying in France allowed me to further my understanding of not only Bordeaux but many regions of France’s wine culture. My final internship was in Burgundy, where I spent three months at Méo-Camuzet which deepened my passion for terroir-driven wines. I returned to the US to take part in the harvest in the Willamette Valley before joining the team at New France in early 2024! When I am not talking about wine, you can pass me on a cycling path or out by my beehives!
