From an early age, Raistland had a keen interest in becoming a chef, an unusual aspiration considering he didn't frequent restaurants or experience extravagant meals growing up. His curiosity persisted, and as the eldest sibling, he was often found in the kitchen attempting to cook for his family from the age of four. It wasn't until he attended college in Des Moines, Iowa, that he landed his first job in a restaurant, initially working in the front of the house. This experience sparked a deep passion for hospitality.
Raistland's inspiration has always been drawn from good stories, nature, human connection, food, and hospitality. He found that all these elements could be encapsulated in a bottle of wine. Motivated to elevate his expertise in hospitality and wine, he moved to Minnesota, where he sought mentorship and worked as a Sommelier and Manager in some of the Twin Cities' finest restaurants. This journey of connecting with people eventually led him to New France, where he advanced through various roles before becoming the Portfolio Director. In this position, Raistland continues to draw inspiration from nature, great stories, human connections, food, and hospitality.
